What We Do

“We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future.”

Franklin Roosevelt

Public education for all children is a cornerstone of our democratic society. Education opens doors for young people. It is their entry ticket to college success, to career opportunities and to healthier, more productive and independent lives.

The Saddleback Valley Unified School District has always had a well-deserved reputation for excellence. Founded in 1983, the Saddleback Valley Educational Foundation is committed to working for improvement in the quality of all of the schools and programs in SVUSD by seeking support and resources from individuals, businesses, and organizations in our community. Because teachers are the most important ingredients in a child’s formal education, providing teachers with the equipment and supplies that they need to accomplish their goals continues to be a top priority for the Foundation. Some of the other things the Foundation has accomplished over the years include: assisting with the preservation of class size reduction, making school gardens grow, assisting English Language learners, helping at-risk students, providing musical instruments for needy students, supporting school libraries, and providing computer software.

Due to the recent economic downturn and the serious budget crisis in the State of California, many staff positions, programs, and services have already been eliminated and many more are in danger of being cut in the near future. For detailed information on the state of the district’s budget, please see the latest information on SVUSD’s website.
